I love Ankara (African prints/fabrics) I love the colours, the vibrancy, its many hues and the versatility of it. I love that you can do a whole lot with it and that the patterns of each design and its stylishness can truly not be comprehended. I just love fashion. Period! This post was inspired by the past few weeks of me being crazy busy and needing to look fabulous with minimum effort while at it.
I have been filming for almost a month now with an awesome & super talented Nigerian actress (story for another day ?) and because of the crazy shooting schedule, shopping in between times for other projects that I have, become totally impossible. And so, to compromise, I needed to switch up or give a little twist to fashion items I already own. But what and how to do it when everything just looks the same? Guess what’s? Ankara came to my rescue.
Hovewer, I’m still slightly scared of going the whole nine yards (I.e head-2-toe) without looking like a stuffed sausage. So I thought to incorporate little bits of Ankara in my chosen outfits and see what comes of it. (That’s where the ‘Little Ankara’ title came in….) Finish off with minimum make up and complement with a bright or bold lipstick. The results were beautiful and I just had to share. I thought this particular look was perfect for meetings and on to evenings out. It’s so versatile and very easy to rock.
I have 3 looks to share from different events. This is the first look. I’ll show the others next week and the week after.
My outfits details include; Denim jacket: GAP. Ankara trousers: Tumee clothing (Nigeria) contactable via instagram. Shoes: Next Uk. Bag: Vintage family heirloom (hand me down from my big sis.)
I hope you enjoyed it. Please like, comment, share and subscibe if you do. Remain blessed.
Until next time, mwah …. ?
